My experience in London

It's great to travel in London especially with big gang of 'LJ' friends. No doubt it's fun 'killing', healing, spying and accusing each other when we are free :)
Mafia!!!

Visited some places like Tower Bridge, Madam Tussauds Wax Musuem, China Town, Eye of London, House of Parliament,  Buckingham Palace, Oxford circus, Picadilly circus, etc. Frankly speak, London hasn't impressed me too much yet. Mayb i'm from KL - another great city indeed.
However, i have to admit the transportation system in London is very good. Tube(rail) was my primary transportation and I'm amazed that almost every point in the big city is connected well by tube. Standing on the city of London, I could never believe there is another 'city' of railway system beneath me.

Didn't manage to visit a lot of places actually. I arrived London on the 23th late evening. By the time i sort out my tube travelcard (Oyster Card - don't ask me! i dont know why they call that Oyster card) and meet/have dinner (10 Pounds per person :'C ) at China Town, it's already too late to visit any shops. So we went to see Eye of London (from far), and House of Parliament (from outside). Then other places on 24th. Fact is Wax Musuem is the only place we actually paid and explore.

25th is Christmas - No transportations at all, no shops open at all. No food, no travel - we stayed at room to play 'mafia'. 26th is Boxing day. That means there are sales in UK!! Oxford circus (Oxford St) is where all branded shops gather, just imagine an outdoor Pavilion KL. Woke up super early to 'grab' goods like Esprit, Topman, Zara, Levi's, CKJ, Guess, Nike, Puma...... yeap, sales are up to 70% and still i'm only able to buy intermediate products.. .. Spent Rm 700 there =.=

27th woke up early - Back to Coventry =) ahh.. Cov football team just lost....

Interesting event: There is this Nike Town London - building for Nike products. We were chatting with a staff while shopping. Suddenly, the staff looked excited and said: "hey buddy where you get this spec?", "oh.. I bought it from Malaysia, some UK Optical Shop","wow it's really nice.." then more staffs came to see my spec and discuss =.=  It seemed like having such spec is unbelievable and damn awesome. Well, never could I expect that. I come to think: could it be it's unbelievable because they have never created such product but someone happen to be wearing it?

Spend money in UK

hmm.. surprisingly, there aint too much daily expenses to me. Food? well.. Indeed i spent less than what i did in Malaysia. It's only about 8 Ringgit now. However, I'm not those who don't enjoy life.. sometimes I do spend money to indulge my stomach :) that means a 1.99 item? like.. GoGo's chicken? well, note that 1.99 aint big money in UK. So averagely.... a 2.00 pounds per day?

I have almost everything necessary in the house coz I'm staying off campus, that means all household equipment provided by a kind local landlord. All i ever did was a 2.50 Pounds wok? 7 Pounds ironing board? yea..
In fact i'm getting the 3rd largest room in my area. (I suspect it's almost among all students of Warwick). Largest room would be the room above me, and second largest the room beside me. Three of us has largest living room in this area. Guess what, we're paying least. 260 per month INCLUSIVE bills.

Recently i'm obsessed about clothing though.. In fact, i have everything needed which i brought from Malaysia.
highest defence jacket(spaceman jacket, fat), trapper (hat) and glove i have... all very not fashionable and off brand
long johns which are sufficient for the winter (i think.. coz if not enough, just wear more..) note that i hate long johns.. ugly and not comfortable. kaki bulu very zo gai...
jeans i have, good looking pants i have, winter pants i have.. (winter pants + long john, 0 degree also nevermind lah.. sure boleh tahan.. just that leg a bit heavy lo)
well.. point is i hate fact that i have almost everything - means i cant buy .. i thought having a leather jacket is necessary.. well, dad suddenly bought it in China and mailed me.. well.. ok loh.. good also. happy.. saved my money..
so now's the plan. Buy myself a branded winter coat.. look nice and pro..  like this...

Ya... then i might not need to wear that fatty spaceman coat anymore. What else? I dont know lah.. shoes all have d. mayb an adidas jogging shoe? hmm.. or a real nice glove from Nike? or Everlast Beanie? yea.. you got it.. I'm obsessed about sports product now. very the.. I bought some :)

Well, do not misunderstand. They're all not superior brand for the stuffs. But quality is still good in general. I bought all in necessity except the jacket. It's really nice and damn cheap. The bag is the cheapest in market now, i think i'm the only one who got that for this price. It's only 13 Pounds. try check out online.. Slazenger Quad Flex vs others. Swimming suit.. well i just get the cheapest.. shower gel got offer.. hey, kinda cool when u shower with sports gel after sports games.. google.. well, speedo is superior but choose nike coz suits me. Sports drink?? thirsty lo..Slazenger? Like i said.. it's coolest ever. why? we can discuss in detail soon :)

Would like to share some cases.. they could be funny  =P

Some of you may know I have a damn ugly must very 'tahan cold' jacket which i bought from China. The fat fat black jacket. Guess what. that saved me when i was sick.

Some day ago, i received a parcel from parents. they sent me two jackets. From the phone mom said she doesnt like one of them. It's the F1 Ferarri jacket - 'too red', too flowerish. She said dad claimed i will like it. (he's the one who bought the jacket)
Well, i thought.. mayb my dad knows me well? he would surprise me? or as usual.. just to cover his silly taste on shirts?
So.... i opened the parcel. oh no.... i cant accept it. it does not make me look smart.. size too big, not practical.. i laughed.. lol and i sent him a message: Chiam is disappointed on his dad's taste..

I lost my student travel card again. So unpredictable! i went tesco by bus (i used the card) to pick up a friend of mine. and when i wanted to come back, i realised the card was not with me. Within 30 minutes, lost...

So, I thought like last time, i would find it back in few days. This time i'm smart, i write down name (so they can tell me on facebook) and email (so they can email me). So, I should find it back easier compared ot last time. So unpredicatable.. coz i still haven't find it back. and i've spent quite a lot on transport these few days.

One more surprising thing is my housemate went to london - now i'm usnig his bike  :) :) yes! no need to pay for bus!! hahahaha!!!!! 
oh.. i din realise my another housemate drive MerC.. =.=  just found out today.

Ok, what i want to say is, the fat black jacket can be used while i cycle to tahan extreme cold wind, and red Ferarri  jacket can be used as safety jacket on a bike now because it's bright! because all my jacket is black! dangerous! haha..

My birthday..

This year was a good one :)

Most cherished one: Received so many wishes this year! more than 60 by text, more than 20 orally. Well, thanks to facebook =.=  a lot of people whom i don't know wished me..

Most celebrated one: total 3 celebration events. (small ones) haha... no cake no balloons :(

Most dramatic one: some soh mui suddenly say wanna come and wish me face to face, then come all the way to my place to 'celebrate', ended up i cooked dinner, supper, breakfast for her, and till now she din realise that she forgot to wish me birthday..

Bit disappointed? haha: friends supposed to come visit my house for some reason, ended up both teams cancelled plan.

Lost and found properties...

Eating at Warwick student card
- I found myself without that card. but was rushing to somewhere.. i thought i didnt search clearly. well.. when i came back, i searched again.. and again..
second day afternoon, as usual checking emails... oh my god (OMG) i received email saying my card is found, and is ready to be collected!
Yeah - got it back with same amount of credit insie :)

Student travelcard
- It was a lovely evening, cold, raining(slightly)... and i was on my way back home after lecture. Erm, first time in UK bus a girl sit beside me. Guess what, Asian (a bit pretty). Well, so i was bored and down in the bus.. and you know.. chemistry.. haha...
reached. i got down from the bus.. actually we talked to each other... excuse me(i was sitting inside).. ops sorry.. LOL  so after i got down, i looked into the bus, through sound proof window, and i saw her looking at me. So i looked back. Now she seemed interested. I'm sure she is looking at me, with her big round eyes and weird expression.. she wave her hand. Oh.. now i see, my student travelcard was in her hand.  =.=

The whole night i was thinking if i have name on that card. If yes, she can always add me in fb rite? after two days, i went to a reception to random check. OMG, they have it.

Money
- Someone added me on facebook, ah.... not the girl ya. haha.. He said he wanna discuss something with me. So i add. mayb some guy trying to publicise something?
"Hey i found plastic packet with money in it and it had a receipt of accommodation which had ur name on it. I gave that plastic packet which had the money to a warwick representitive who told me that they have a lost and found department. He told me that he will..... "

HAHA.. so now i wait le


Passport
-I've been very careful! everytime i take out my passport i'll be extra careful! why? i have no idea where i lost it!! haizz... I remembered i kept it safely in luggage, and i check twice to make sure it's fine (i was rushing to a megabus in the evening)
Damn, not in the luggage anymore, i cant find it anywhere, been week!. so i sent email to Malaysian Commision in London for enquiry. WTF, one week only reply!
ah... nvm anyway, i found it on my table in a book. Yeap i did keep it safely. the book was inside the luggage.

UK transport

Argh.. I thought buses are punctual. and now i realise it is not the case in morning. i was once late to supervision because of that. and now cause me late for megabus. 4.50 gone. and that causes another lost of 5.90 for nationalexpress! (well, i shall blame myself for not going out even earlier.... hehe)

so hard to find free wifi here... and MC always full.

Happy birthday!

It's also some important date for me, some important anniversary date. Ya, story started two years ago on this date. I remembered we spent time after college, in a certain car, by that certain road. and i gave her my first 'present'.
Last anniversary we ended up arguing. I remember. She wasn't happy that didn't celebrate with her. I remember i planned to, but i had my band practice before that. And i remember i had no car. but then eventually i made it to her house by public transport. Well, i couldn't enjoy the night. She couldn't too. I want to say, i was the one who suffered everything, all you ever did was sitting at home, doing nothing but argue with me when i was trying the best for you. and i ended up leaving alone, walked back at late night in dangerous area. What did you do to help me? some concern and sincerity you gave, ya. That's the most you can give.

This year, you said you were emo when think of 1st Nov coming, you implied you still care for me. Well, don't bullshit ok? You could have come Northingham to meet me. I met so many friends, most i did not expect to see in UK, and see so many couples coming to meet up during the most famous annual event for Malaysian. Where were you? say study? don't bullshit, i have works too. It's 3.30am now and i just finished 50% assignment due tomorrow. (today) You could've come and if you wish, come Warwick for a weekend in a free bus. and not quarreling with me after attending emo concert(i thought u busy?), after i went for sports event and felt tired.

Badminton

It's about how well you control your emotion, analyze the competition while you are in the game. Every single shot you take, every single shuttle you place, determines everything.

In a competition, supporters 'make noise' to encourage you. In basketball, netball, volleyball, etc you use your body, your strength. Slogans from the crowd can heat you up, give you spirit and make you fight!
In badminton, it is not always the case. You are on your own, every single shot from opponent can be unpredictable, and any one can make you lose point. It's the same for your opponent, so you have to force opponent to make mistake. What if he doesn't?
after all, you need to control your emotion; when you are nervous, when you doubt yourself, when you made stupid mistake, when shuttle doesnt go the way you put, when opponent seem to be better, and WHEN OPPONENT IS INFERIOR!

one second being emotional, you will lose the point, and you could get nervous to lose another, and another. Normally 3 points wasted. (and that's not average, that's theoritical value! Situation could go till the last point of your game! and then you regret being nervous)

Well, now talk about why i like badminton. Because it's a very exciting game. Every point you win, is the result of patient, skill, and strategy. Of course, not only tension inside, fun and excitement too! when you and opponent make mistake together :) and see who's more lucky then...

Doubles
it's not about how good your partner is, how good your skills are. It's how well you guys perform as a team! In fact, it's two men standing on small court, what could stop you from getting any shot in any corner? To defend your certainly need skill, but the position you stand will decide if you have minimized your risk! it's team work. To attack, you may be good at smashing or you can 'shoot to kill', but who is the one who create such opportunity for you? It's team work, if you understand your partners well, you know what is in his mind - you will have common plan :)

Northingham's Malaysian Game

I lost in the first round in badminton, to an inferior. I finally understand what is a competition, and what it's meant by spirit in sports game.

Today onwards, i will be determined in achieving things i want, and like in my life

1. Badminton - i miss my partner Chin Wei. I will practice my footwork, increase speed, and strength.
2. Trumpet - I will play Carnival of Venice one day
3. Piano - I will play one simple song one day
4. Fitness - Until i feel i can control my movement in badminton court!
5. Dancing - Simple basic will do, and ballroom dance of course
6. Academic achievement - being good and knowledgeable, respected. enough.
7. Scholarship - Will get a scholarship!
